Let us plan one of our unforgettable wine tours for you and then browse our restaurants or go shopping, antiquing and wine tasting around the Prosser area. Take a walking tour of our historic homes, get a soothing massage at one of our spas, or learn about our history at the Benton County Museum. On Saturday mornings from May thru October, stop by the Prosser Farmers Market and enjoy breakfast in the city park.

Outdoor recreation and family fun activities abound: Visit an alpaca farm, Tour the back roads. Picnic in one of our many parks. And don't miss Black Rock Creek Golf Club, among the best in the Yakima Valley.

Even if it's raining or freezing outside, indoor activities at the Prosser Family Fun Center or the Prosser Family Fitness Zone, where you don't have to be a member to enjoy their facilities, will enhance your visit.

The Yakima River runs through Prosser, and visitors enjoy canoeing , kayaking, and bass fishing all the way to Benton City. Enjoy a scenic driving tour to Walla Walla, Tri-Cities, Red Mountain and the Horse Heaven and Yakima Valley wineries, all within a day’s reach.

The Prosser area offers the best in family entertainment for vacationers as well as locals. In one weekend, a family could go fishing, bicycling, golfing, tour historic homes, take in a movie, go swimming or skating, and still have time to visit our local museum, shops and city parks. We hope you enjoy browsing through our activities guide below.

Prosser would not be the same inviting, vibrant city without its parks that provide a swimming pool, wading pool, basketball courts, horse-shoe pits, tennis courts, picnic facilities, barbeque pits, and playground equipment.

Parks, Picnicking & More
The City of Prosser owns and operates seven City parks totaling 26.92 acres. Park hours are as follows: March through October from 7:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m. and November through February from 7:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m.(no restrooms available during fall and winter). All city-owned parks are open year round.

City park facilities can be reserved by the public for special events and occasions by contacting the Public Works Office on 601 Seventh Street, Prosser, WA or by calling (509) 786-2332. Big toyOffice hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends and holidays.


City Park 

This 4.49-acre park is located at Seventh Street, Memorial and Sommers Streets. Facilities in the park include a covered picnic pavilion, shaded picnic areas, lighted outdoor stage, playground equipment, open play area, restrooms, two concession buildings with food preparation and service facilities.


City PoolE.J. Miller ParkPavilion

This 6.05-acre park is located at Park Avenue and Kinney Way, and contains the City municipal outdoor 36-meter swimming pool. The park also contains 3 outdoor lighted tennis courts, a lighted outdoor basketball court, playground equipment, covered picnic pavilion with sink and electrical outlets, open play areas, large grassy areas with numerous large trees, and restroom facilities.


Crawford Riverfront Park

This 7.3-acre park is located along the Yakima River at Byron Road and contains a picnic shelter with electrical outlets and sink, barbecue areas, a soccer field, riverfront pathway, and restrooms.


Farrand Park

Named for the City’s founder, Colonel William Farrand Prosser, and at one time his homesite, this 2.04-acre park is located on Byron Road and Third Street, near Crawford Riverfront Park. A rock-mounted bronze plaque honoring Colonel Prosser can be seen at the park. There are restrooms, picnic facilities, barbecue areas, a large play area, shade trees and a public boat launch. The boat launch to the Yakima River is available for use at the base of Byron Road and Sheridan Avenue near the parking area of Crawford Riverfront Park There are no public dock facilities.


Market Street Park

This 6.0-acre park is located along SR 22 and Market Street. The entrance to the park is off of Market Street and leads to a large parking area. There is a large, grassy area suitable for soccer, or other field games for youths. Currently there are no restroom facilities at the park, but portable units are occasionally placed there. Large trees offer shade for picnics.


falls park Grant Street Park

This 0.26-acre park is located adjacent to the south end of the Grant Street Bridge and contains a small shelter, some picnic tables, and a pleasant view of the Yakima River and Prosser Dam. There are no restroom facilities available.


rotary park Prosser Rotary Pathway Park

This 0.12-acre park is located at the northwest corner of Wine Country Road and Nunn Road and contains a gazebo-style shelter with picnic table, drinking fountain, park bench, picnic table, flowering landscaping, parking, and concrete walkways. It is also the beginning of the paved Centennial Pathway that leads to the cities of Grandview and then to Sunnyside, WA. There are no facilities available at the park.

Skate ParkEJ Miller Park Skate Park -Open 8am - 10pm Daily. This lighted skate park located at Park Avenue and Kinney Way is the newest addition to the City of Prosser Park system. This classic bowl was built by professional skate boarders and this is phase 1 of a 3 phrase project..

Swimming
City Swimming Pool

This outdoor pool is located at the E.J. Miller Park at the corner of Park Avenue and Kinney Way. This 36-meter pool includes a slide and diving board. There is family swim daily from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The pool is open in the summers only.

Theater
Princess Theatre

This beautifully restored playhouse hosts a variety of live entertainment.  Music concerts, plays & musicals, lectures, and receptions for any occasion are held here.  Contact Valley Theatre Company for more details.

Valley Theater Company has been performing in the valley since 1962.  The company currently produces 4 shows each year.  Visit www.valleytheatercompany.org to see the shows for the 2008-09 season.


Tennistennis court
Prosser High School- Courts are across the street from the City park off of Seventh Avenue.

E.J. Miller Park -Three outdoor lighted tennis courts are located at the E.J. Miller Park at the corner of Park Avenue and Kinney Way.

This facility, located at the corner of Seventh Street and Dudley Avenue, is currently the home of the Prosser Senior Citizens Organization. This facility is available to the public, on a rental basis, for special events and occasions. Contained within is a complete food preparation and service room , banquet hall, ADA compliant restrooms, and off street parking. For more information please call (509) 786-2915.

The grounds being maintained by the City of Prosser, this facility is located between Sixth and Seventh Streets, and along Bennett Avenue. It is within the downtown business district and affords ample parking, public restrooms, bench seating, and landscaped areas. The building itself, formerly the old train depot, houses the public restrooms, Prosser Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Information Center, and the Prosser Economic Development Association. For more information please call The Prosser Chamber of Commerce, (509) 786-3177.  The Visitor's Information Center is open Monday - Friday 9 am- 5 pm all year round with extended hours from May - September on Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm and on Sunday from 12 noon - 2:00 pm.
